Commentary: This list is very much built with PvP in mind and PvE on the side. For PvE this list is a different story because some of the weapons here are far too expensive to be worth the trouble, and slow sluggers are way better in PvE. Most of the time I don't like commenting on stuff I haven't personally played but there are a small few exceptions in this list. Unlike build schemes or mutations, weapons are simpler and get added more often, so I couldn't personally test everything without a legion of alts.

A Tier
------
These are weapons which are extremely respectable but fall a little short of S-tier greatness. Often you'll actually see these weapons a lot more than S-tier because they're cheaper and just as good for many purposes.

Flash Whip - Fair exotic damage with bleed option. Easy acquisition. Lightweight. PC1 isn't great. Has problems against deathgear.

12mm Hammerhead - Viper but a bit worse. Pretty easy acquisition. Heavy. Mid accuracy.

Combustor Hammer - Hits hard. Good speed for a 2h. Excellent typing. Accurate. Moderate acquisition. So-so crit.

Hobgoblin SMG - Great speed for a rifle. Good damage. Hard acquisition. No DnW. Heavy. Poor accuracy. So-so typing.

Knuckle Buster - Good speed. Great damage. Good typing. Absolutely trivial acquisition. Atrocious crit. Mid accuracy.

Softball Bat - Trivial acquisition. Solid damage. Good typing with a bleed option. Accurate. Teeny bit slow, poor min, so-so crit.

Proton Pack - Monster damage. God-tier typing. Easy speedcap. Trivial acquisition. Accurate. Difficult ammo logistics. Slow. Very heavy. Has an aura to it that tends to cause player panic in PvP.

B Tier
------
These weapons remain competitive but often suffer from falling a bit flat in most areas. Many of them have one niche in which they excel but fail to provide a complete package.

Desolator - Huge damage. Slow. Has funny bomb strats. Outrageous acquisition. Tough ammo. You'll probably never see one of these.

Tesla Gauntlets - Similar to Edisons but with better speed and weight, worse crit and damage. They're fine but you may as well upgrade.

Samaritan - Huge damage. Kinda slow. Inaccurate. Tough acquisition. Heavy as all get out. Overkill for most fights. Has a cool niche in killing bosses.

SPAS-12 - Does a bazillion damage in 3-5 business days. Great typing options. Moderate acquisition. Big BRW needs.

Lever-Action Shotgun - Very similar to SPAS-12. Faster, less damage, much easier to acquire.

Plasma Rifle - Very similar to SPAS-12 (you may be sensing a theme). Good typing. Great crit. Forgiving BRW needs. Extremely hard acquisition.

Chainsaw Lance - Excellent damage with good exotic on the side. Absolutely incredible crit. Pretty easy acquisition. Horribly inaccurate. Heavy.

Pata - Solid damage. Good crit. PC2. Hyperarmor! Poor min. Poor typing. Heavy. Inaccurate. Very good when used defensively.

Hosaka Daikatana - Good damage. Great min. Good crit. Accurate. Lightweight. So-so typing but gets laser. Moderate acquisition. Slow.

Zap Brannigan - Hyperarmor! Good typing. Fair damage. Heavy. Needs power. Inaccurate. Tricky acquisition. Poor crit.

Shiver Axe - Solid damage. Excellent crit. Very lightweight. Fairly easy acquisition. So-so typing. Kinda slow.

Large Scythe - Huge damage. Easy acquisition. Great crit. Light for a BRW spear. So-so damtype. Slow.

Wasteland Kukris - Solid damage. Fairly easy acquisition. Mid crit. Mid speed. So-so typing but gets laser.

Urumi - Fast. Accurate. Bleed option. PC0 which is very important for Whips. Lightweight. Damage is so-so.

Pitchfork - A dark horse. Monster damage. Monster crit. Gets hyperarmor. Easy acquisition. Accurate. So-so typing. Slow.

Bruce Springsteel - Monster damage. Excellent typing. Gets laser. Very easy acquisition. Hyperarmor. Rather heavy. So-so crit. Slow.

Boss Springsteel - Big damage. Hyperarmor. Accurate. Pretty easy acquisition. Great crit. Still pretty slow. So-so typing but still gets laser.

Krysknives - Solid damage. Good crit. Fast. Gets laser. Accurate. Poor min. Extremely hard acquisition, which is the main thing that holds it back.

TT-77 - A Rifle wearing a Pistols fursuit. Big damage. Heavy. Slow. Moderate acquisition. Tough ammo. Demanding on BRW.

Vector Carbine - Very low BRW needs. Fast for a Rifle. Lightweight. Accurate. Moderate acquisition. Poor damage. So-so typing.

C Tier
------
The start of the "mid" weapons. They're often easy to acquire but have poor performance, or the opposite, having solid performance but not enough to justify their cost.

Heavy Sword - Trivial acquisition. Good damage, great crit. Gets hyperarmor. Atrocious min damage. Slow. So-so typing but still gets laser.

.71 Desert Hawk - Trivial acquisition. Big damage. Good crit. Kinda slow. So-so typing. Inaccurate.

Luftspeer - Good crit. Fair damage. Fair speed. Good typing. Extremely difficult acquisition (and needs a pair to be good). Chatnet's favorite weapon but rarely used.

Fire Axe - Big damage. Monster crit. Trivial acquisition. Atrocious accuracy. This weapon is a special child with a lot of funky strats.

Razorchain - Fair damage. Good typing with extra bleed. Slow for a Whip. PC2 which is a huge problem for Whips.

Headsman - Excellent damage. Superb min. Accurate. Nice crit. Kinda slow. So-so typing. Very tough acquisition which is its main flaw. Excellent on a PvE-only build.

AK and friends: Bullpup, AR-17, SCAR-L, Sturmgewehr, FN FAL - All basically the same. Don't tell Riflers that though, they get mad. Good damage. DnW. Easy acquisition (excepting the Sturm). So-so typing. Slow. Poor exotic options.

TEC-9 - Yet another AK, but this one's cooler because you can do low-BRW strats with it. No DnW. Extremely difficult acquisition.

Garden Weasel - Accurate, good speed, good damage, extremely lightweight. So-so crit. Only serious issue is acquisition, you can go years without seeing one.

D Tier
------
These weapons can still carry a fight, but they near the realm of badness with multiple serious flaws.

Bioptic Bonesaw - Great typing, very exotic. Slow as balls. Heavy for Medic. Very tough acquisition. Useful for PvE shenanigans.

Cinderlash - Good typing. Good damage. Slow. PC2 on whips. Inaccurate. Fair acquisition. Needs BRW to be good which Whips doesn't like.

Shiver Sword - The hosaka daikatana with power problems, worse min, and no lumission. Accurate but it's not enough.

Giant Wrench - Excellent damage. Hyperarmor. Far too slow. Inaccurate. Heavy as all get out. Has rad issues. However: It is extremely funny.

Sniper Rifle - Accurate. Monster damage. Monster crit. Slower than George R. R. Martin. Can do some gimmicks with Sneak but that's about it.

If a weapon isn't listed here, I either didn't think it was notable or I just forgot about it.

There are some exceptions to this, namely Flails and Throw. I haven't played with these much yet so I don't feel comfortably tier-ing them. I'm told Throw is really great these days though!
